1892-CC $20 -- Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. Unc. Variety 1-A. The 1892-CC double eagle saw a remarkably small mintage of 27,265 pieces, and most are circulated to some degree. This example shows some prooflike reflectivity, as might be expected on such a low-mintage issue, but the fields are rather extensively hairlined on top, indicative of cleaning. The golden-orange surfaces nonetheless still exhibit good eye appeal and a nice sharp strike.(Registry values: N2998)
