Description

1893-CC Twenty, MS62+
Bright Yellow-Gold Surfaces

1893-CC $20 MS62+ PCGS. CAC. The 1893-CC twenty has a couple of factors working in its favor. It has a remarkably low mintage of only 18,402 pieces, and it was shipped to Europe and held there for many years giving collectors Uncirculated coins when they were repatriated. One of the problems this issue often has are alloy spots on many of the Uncirculated pieces. This example lacks that particular problem; rather, the surfaces are bright, even yellow-gold. Additionally, the mint luster is bright and frosted, and the abrasions present are small, widely scattered, and individually inoffensive. These factors undoubtedly explain the Plus designation. Exceptional for a Carson City type coin.(Registry values: N2998)
