Description
Important 1893-CC Double Eagle, MS62
1893-CC $20 MS62 PCGS. For Carson City coinage specialists, this is an excellent opportunity to acquire the final double eagle, and a Mint State coin at that. The coin is brilliant with attractive yellow color, the fields are slightly reflective, and the surfaces have few scattered surface marks consistent with the grade. Sharp design features complete this pretty picture. We are certain the connoisseur will be delighted with this example. While lower Mint State grades are seen with some frequency, the population figures reveal only a few that have been graded MS62, and very few finer. Less than one example per year exceeds this quality in the PCGS grading room. Population: 74 in 62, 17 finer (8/07).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26C9, PCGS# 9023, GSID# 9953)
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
