Description
Marvelous MS63 1893-CC Twenty
1893-CC $20 MS63 NGC. The Carson City double eagle series ends on a mixed note with the 1893 issue. While the mintage of 18,402 pieces is down compared to the year before, survival rates are up, and though MS63 examples of the issue are conditionally rare, they are more available than for any other Carson City double eagle date, with 37 instances in the combined certified population (2/09). This lovely MS63 coin has shining lemon-gold surfaces with hints of straw. Excellent detail on Liberty's hair with only a handful of wispy abrasions affecting each side. From The Belle Collection of Carson City Coinage.(Registry values: N4719)
Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26C9, PCGS# 9023, Greysheet# 9953)
