Description

1893-CC Twenty Dollar, MS63
High-End Condition Rarity
The Final Carson City Production

1893-CC $20 MS63 PCGS. Winter 2-A. The mintmark is positioned with the second C over the D in DOLLAR, and a thin, spindly die crack runs through the TAT in STATES. On the obverse, a short tine protrudes from Liberty's neck into the left field, and the 1 in the date is slightly left of centered over a dentil. This is the more plentiful of two die varieties documented for the 1893-CC double eagle, which utilize a shared reverse. The date as a whole is collectible, but attractive Mint State pieces can be elusive. This coin boasts radiant orange-gold luster and a vibrant cartwheel effect, with a sharp strike and some minor signs of contact that determine the grade. Population: 29 in 63, 0 finer (1/25).(Registry values: N4719)
