Description

1894 Double Eagle, MS64+
Excellent Twenty Dollar Gold

1894 $20 MS64+ NGC. The 1894 Liberty Head double eagle gold had a mintage of 1,368,990 coins and becomes scarce in MS64 grades. This exceptional example has attractive yellow gold toning with orange highlights. A few small marks keep it from Gem, including on the shield. Frosty luster is thick and blankets the surfaces. A full strike nicely details the design elements.(Registry values: N2998)
