1895-S $20 MS64 PCGS Secure. With a mintage of more than 1 million coins, the 1895-S Liberty Head double eagle is readily available in lower circulated grades but the issue becomes scarce in MS64. Above the Choice level, the 1895-S is very rare, as PCGS has certified only six coins in higher numeric grades (7/10). The present coin is an attractive Choice example, with pleasing rose-gold surfaces and ample mint luster. All design elements are sharply detailed and a few minor scratches on Liberty's cheek and chin are the only distractions of note.(Registry values: N2998)
