Choice Mint State 1896 Double Eagle
1896 $20 MS64 NGC. This is an outstanding example with sharp design features and highly lustrous yellow-gold surfaces. The obverse has slightly reflective, satiny luster, and the reverse is fully frosty. A scarce date in the highest grades, a true condition rarity. NGC has only certified nine examples finer than this. Census: 135 in 64, 9 finer (12/05).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26CF, PCGS# 9029, Greysheet# 9831)
