1896 Liberty Twenty, MS64
Rare Any Finer
1896 $20 MS64 PCGS. The 1896 Liberty double eagle is readily
available in circulated grades, and lower Mint State examples can
be located with a little patience, but the date is elusive in
Choice condition. This sharply detailed Choice example displays
pleasing orange-gold surfaces, with highlights of rose and lilac,
and vibrant mint luster. Only eleven coins have been certified in
higher numeric grades at PCGS (1/25).(Registry values: N2998)From The Mississippi Collection of Double Eagles, Part II.
