Description

1896 $20 Repunched Date PCGS Genuine. FS-301. The PCGS number ending in .92 suggests Cleaning as the reason, or perhaps one of the reasons, that PCGS deemed this coin not gradable. In our opinion, this coin has the details of a Mint State specimen that has been lightly cleaned. The date is dramatically repunched with all four digits showing signs of doubling. There are no obvious cleaning lines on this frosty and moderately abraded Mint State example.

Note for clients in the European Union: This lot is considered by the European Union to be “investment gold”. We believe that it meets the criteria established in Article 344(1), point (2) of Council Directive 2006/112/EC and thus should be exempt from import VAT regardless of the selling price. Any questions or concerns about VAT should be addressed to your accountant or local tax authority.
