Near-Gem 1896-S Liberty Twenty Dollar
1896-S $20 MS64 PCGS. The attributes of this lovely near-Gem
include deep gold color with hints of orange and attractive luster.
The piece exhibits detailed design elements. Minor contact marks
appear on both sides, including Liberty's face. Examples are scarce
beyond this grade level at both major grading services, with NGC
having graded no finer MS64 pieces and only one MS65. PCGS has
awarded only one 64+ grade, with 2 finer (12/12).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26CG, PCGS# 9030, Greysheet# 9957)
