Description
Extraordinary 1896-S Twenty, MS65
1896-S $20 MS65 PCGS. This is the only MS65 example of the date that PCGS has ever certified, with just one finer piece that grades MS67. That coin is the famous Eliasberg specimen that was acquired by J. M. Clapp directly from the San Francisco Mint in 1896. This is the next best coin and an opportunity that cannot be missed by anyone seriously interested in the series. An amazing coin, this Gem has frosty yellow-gold luster with excellent mint brilliance on both sides. It is sharply detailed and presents a splendid appearance with excellent eye appeal. The surfaces are pristine with only microscopic marks on each side. Population: 1 in 65, 1 finer (6/07).(Registry values: N4719)
Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26CG, PCGS# 9030, Greysheet# 9957)
Weight: 33.44 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
