Description
1897-S Liberty Double Eagle, MS64+
Vivid Color, Vibrant Luster
1897-S $20 MS64+ PCGS. CAC. The 1897-S Liberty double eagle
claims a mintage of nearly 1.5 million pieces, making it an
available date in most grades. The population thins out
dramatically at the Gem level, however, making this high-end Choice
specimen a good balance of quality and value. The design elements
are sharply detailed and the well-preserved peach-gold surfaces
radiate vibrant mint luster. PCGS has graded 10 numerically finer
examples (7/13).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26CJ, PCGS# 9032, Greysheet# 9958)
