1897-S Double Eagle, MS65+
Important Condition Rarity
1897-S $20 MS65+ PCGS. This imposing Gem ranks among the
most important condition rarities of the Liberty double eagle
series. PCGS has certified nearly 10,000 examples of this issue,
including eight pieces graded MS65, this one graded MS65+, and two
certified as MS67 (11/15). NGC has certified one finer example that
is graded MS66. A few grade limiting marks are evident on each side
of this beauty that features brilliant rose-gold luster and frosty
surfaces. The design elements are boldly delineated. Every aspect
