1901 Double Eagle, MS65
Lovely Eye Appeal
1901 $20 MS65 NGC. The 1901 Philadelphia Mint Liberty Head
twenty dollar gold had a relatively low mintage of 111,430 coins,
although many survive in Uncirculated grades. This exceptional Gem
Uncirculated specimen is far better than most, with rich yellow
centers transitioning to deep orange-gold towards the peripheries
for lovely eye appeal. The strike is sharp with all design elements
displaying crisp detail. Only minor contact marks that are not
distracting. Radiant frosty luster enhances the charm of this
