1902-S Double Eagle, MS64
Important Condition Rarity
1902-S $20 MS64 PCGS. The 1902-S double eagle is the issue
normally encountered with the 1902 date as the Philadelphia
production was limited to just over 30,000 coins. In San Francisco,
the coinage continued until more than 1.7 million double eagles
were produced. Most of those coins were exported, and repatriated
examples are typically AU to MS63. The present Choice Mint State
piece has fully brilliant and lustrous yellow-gold surfaces with
traces of orange. Population: 85 in 64 (8 in 64+), 6 finer
