Description
Two-Toned Gem 1903 Double Eagle
1903 $20 MS65 NGC. The low mintage of the 1903 double eagle, 287,200 coins, is sometimes forgotten given the enormous mintages of the 1904 and 1904-S issues that followed, totaling more than 9 million coins. This piece shows two-toned, pristine surfaces with orange-gold and lilac vying for territory on each side. NGC has certified only eight examples finer (3/10).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26CW, PCGS# 9043, GSID# 9838)
