Description
Splendid MS65 1904 Twenty Dollar
1904 $20 MS65 NGC. Between the 1904 and the 1904-S issues there were nearly 11.4 million double eagles coined, making them the first- and second-largest issues of the Liberty Head type and the Type Three subtype. Type gold collectors avidly seek splendid Gem examples such as the present coin. When found, Gems of the 1904 issues are typically sharply struck, as here. The orange-gold surfaces emanate copious luster, and the eye appeal is uniformly high throughout. From The E.J. Mutton Collection of U.S. Gold.(Registry values: N2998)
