Description

Appealing 1904 Gem Twenty Dollar

1904 $20 MS65 NGC. The 6 1/4 million double eagle mintage at the Philadelphia Mint in 1904 is the largest gold emission of any date or mint except for 1928, leading Walter Breen to opine: "The archetype of 'common gold.' " The yellow-gold surfaces of this Gem specimen display whispers of apricot and exquisitely defined devices. The few minute marks are within the confines of the MS65 grade designation.
