Description
Exceptional 1904 Double Eagle, MS65
1904 $20 MS65 PCGS. With more than 9,000 coins certified as MS65 by PCGS and NGC, one might wonder why bidders should give special attention to the present Gem offering. First, both sides radiate ebullient luster. Second, variegated apricot-gold and mint-green colors dance over obverse and reverse. Third, an exacting strike delivers sharp definition to the design elements. Finally, while a few offensive surface marks are visible, the rims are remarkably clean, unusual for a large, heavy gold coin. All in all, this piece generates tremendous eye appeal. Encapsulated in a green label holder. From The E.J. Mutton Collection of U.S. Gold, Part Two.(Registry values: N2998)
