Description
MS66 1904 Double Eagle
Unmarked, Fully Struck, and Lustrous
1904 $20 MS66 PCGS. CAC. Blazing cartwheel luster
illuminates the light rose and lilac colors of this fully struck
Premium Gem 1904 Liberty double eagle. Not only are the surfaces
extraordinarily clean, showing no marks of individual significance,
but they are even more lustrous than usual, This obviously original
coin has been well-preserved for more than a century, unlike its
ubiquitous but (mostly) baggy peers. Despite the enormous mintage
exceeding 6 million pieces for the issue, this coin is surpassed in
grade by precisely two coins at PCGS (9/12). An excellent specimen
for a fine type set.Ex: New York Signature (Heritage, 7/2004), lot 8580.
