Description
Impressive 1904 Twenty, MS66
1904 $20 MS66 PCGS. James B. Longacre created the Liberty Head design in the late 1830s for use on the quarter eagles, half eagles, and eagles. When Congress authorized a double eagle, Longacre modified his design with a new robust head of LIBERTY. The reverse design was also modified for the large 20 dollar pieces. This delightful Premium Gem is fully lustrous and sharply struck, with sensational satiny yellow luster. The surfaces are pristine with few marks on either side. Housed in a green label holder. PCGS has only certified two finer examples of this common date (9/09).From The E.J. Mutton Collection of U.S. Gold.(Registry values: N4719)
