1904-S $20 MS65 NGC. The "other" 1904-dated double eagle type issue, the 1904-S boasts its own substantial mintage of more than 5.1 million pieces, many of which have survived to the present day. Unlike the 1904, the 1904-S grading curve effectively tops out at MS65, with just three numerically finer pieces in the combined certified population (2/10). This Gem offers warm yellow-orange luster and a strong central strike, though the upper obverse stars show a degree of softness.
