Scarce 1906 Double Eagle MS62
1906 $20 MS62 NGC. This better-date double eagle is originally toned in rich peach shades. The cartwheel shimmer is unbroken, and marks are generally confined to a few ticks near the profile. Fewer than 70,000 pieces were struck of this issue, since many of the 11.4 million pieces coined in 1904 between Philadelphia and San Francisco presumably remained in Federal vaults.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26D4, PCGS# 9049, GSID# 9841)
