Description
1906 Twenty Dollar, MS64+
Conditionally Rare
1906 $20 MS64+ PCGS. CAC. With a limited mintage of 69,596
pieces, the 1906 is the scarcest double eagle of this date, and is
one of the most elusive 20th century issues. MS63 is the highest
grade typically seen, and Choice examples are rare; in Gem
condition, the 1906 is out of reach for most collectors. This
Plus-graded MS64 example displays razor-sharp detail and vibrant,
frosty luster in mellow yellow-gold hues. There are no significant
abrasions, although close study with a loupe reveals a few trivial
lines that preclude a Gem assessment. CAC-endorsed for quality and
eye appeal. Population: 24 in 64 (1 in 64+), 7 finer
(6/15).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26D4, PCGS# 9049, Greysheet# 9841)
Weight: 33.44 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
