Description
1906 Liberty Twenty, MS64+
Smooth and Highly Attractive
CAC Endorsed
1906 $20 MS64+ PCGS. CAC. The fact that collectors of the
day preferred proofs to circulation strikes has turned out to be a
limiting factor for highly graded Mint State circulation strikes
available to collectors today. The 1902, 1905, and 1906 issues are
especially challenging in high grade, and while some coins of those
three dates have returned from foreign holdings, they seldom exceed
the lower Mint State grades. This high-end near-Gem 1906 example is
frosty and sharp with outstanding orange-gold color and tremendous
eye appeal. A few widely scattered grazes and tiny marks are minor
compared to the exceptional surface quality and sharp strike
displayed by this Plus-graded and CAC endorsed borderline Gem. Few
examples are any finer. Population: 3 in 64+, 9 finer. CAC: 8 in
64, 3 finer (11/24).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26D4, PCGS# 9049, Greysheet# 9841)
