What sets this piece apart is its grade. Near-Gems are conditionally rare, and only a few finer pieces are known. There are fewer than a dozen CAC-approved 1906 double eagles in this and finer grades. This piece showcases bold devices and luminous peach-orange surfaces. A cartwheel effect shimmers as it illuminates clean fields and a near-perfect cheek on Liberty. Eye appeal is exceptional. Population: 30 in 64 (1 in 64+), 9 finer.
