Description

1906 Twenty Dollar, Luminous MS64
A Rarity in This Condition

1906 $20 MS64 PCGS Secure. CAC. Although fewer than 70,000 double eagles were struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1906, the issue is usually plentiful for collectors. What sets this piece apart is its grade. Near-Gems are conditionally rare, and only a few finer pieces are known. There are fewer than a dozen CAC-approved 1906 double eagles in this and finer grades. This piece showcases bold devices and luminous peach-orange surfaces. A cartwheel effect shimmers as it illuminates clean fields and a near-perfect cheek on Liberty. Eye appeal is exceptional. Population: 30 in 64 (1 in 64+), 9 finer. CAC: 6 in 64, 4 finer (10/18).(Registry values: N4719)
