Description

1871-S Twenty Dollar, MS63 CAC
None CAC’d Finer

1871-S $20 MS63 NGC. CAC. Ex: Granite Lady Hoard. Micro S. The Granite Lady Hoard is a curious endeavor to discuss as it belonged to the vaults of the former San Francisco Mint. Similar to the Fairmont Hoard, a census on the Granite Lady Hoard is either in the works or non-existent, making tracing the prestige of the pedigree difficult. Rich gold luster adorns this piece with deepening notes along Liberty's portrait and throughout an enrapturing cartwheel effect. Some minor abrasions appear within the fields of this piece, though they are largely non-debilitating. A small die lump appears next to the 7 which resembles the left foot of a 1. Only seven other examples have been seen at Select Uncirculated at NGC and a single numerically finer coin; just two coins have been CAC'd at this grade with none finer (5/26).
