Branch Mint Type Coin
1884-CC $20 AU58 PCGS. Winter 1-A. The issue produced only
81,139 Liberty twenty gold pieces yet remains plentiful up to lower
Uncirculated grades, with many acquired by type collectors seeking
a piece of Carson City gold. This near-Mint piece is well-struck on
vibrant wheat-gold surfaces that retain almost all its original
mint luster. Light surface abrasions are consistent with the grade,
with Liberty showing minor marks on her eyebrow and above her lip.
A shallow scrape between stars 12 and 13, and debris in the E in
STATES serve as pedigree markers.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26BK, PCGS# 9001, Greysheet# 9939)
