Description

1884-CC Double Eagle, AU58
Branch Mint Type Coin

1884-CC $20 AU58 PCGS. Winter 1-A. The issue produced only 81,139 Liberty twenty gold pieces yet remains plentiful up to lower Uncirculated grades, with many acquired by type collectors seeking a piece of Carson City gold. This near-Mint piece is well-struck on vibrant wheat-gold surfaces that retain almost all its original mint luster. Light surface abrasions are consistent with the grade, with Liberty showing minor marks on her eyebrow and above her lip. A shallow scrape between stars 12 and 13, and debris in the E in STATES serve as pedigree markers.(Registry values: N1793)
