Luminous VF 1838 Eagle
1838 $10 VF20 NGC. The warm honey-gold surfaces of this moderately circulated piece remain surprisingly luminous. Faint, scattered abrasions affect both sides, and a rim bruise is noted near 10 o'clock on the reverse rim. Still, a pleasing example of this noteworthy issue, the first eagle struck for commerce since 1804, with a mintage of just 7,200 pieces.
