Attractive 1838 Ten Dollar, XF40

1838 $10 XF40 PCGS. The 1838 is significant for at least three reasons. It has a very low mintage of 7,200 pieces. It is the first ten dollar date since 1804. It is one of only two dates of the Large Letters subtype. The present piece has a noticeable amount of remaining luster, and the strike is decent despite a few flat stars. A few marks are noted in the field near the eagle's head. Encapsulated in a green label holder. Population: 6 in 40, 33 finer (8/07).(Registry values: N2998)
