Description
1839 Large Letters VF 30. Another VF example of this (usually) scarce type coin. These 1839 tens all come from the same source, a Swiss banker, who pulled these pieces out of bullion holdings in Swiss banks in the 1940s and '50s. Light in color, the surfaces are peppered with numerous small marks and a few tiny edge nicks. The striking details are a tad soft.
