1839 Large Letters AU 50 Polished. This is the so-called "Type of 1838" or "Old Portrait" variety. Actually, the head is much smaller on the obverse than on the later type. A very elusive two-year type coin, and one that is quite difficult to locate in AU condition. This piece is polished, but not unattractive.
