Brilliant AU58 1839 Type of 1838, Large Letters Ten

1839 $10 Type of 1838, Large Letters AU58 NGC. Easily distinguished from the Type of 1840, also known as the Small Letters, not only by the Large Letters reverse, but more prominently by the pointed bust truncation that hovers over star 13. On the Type of 1840 the bust truncation is rounded and to the left of that star. The surfaces are brilliant canary-yellow, with light rub on the eyebrow and wingtips separating the piece from Mint State. The unobtrusive abrasions are grade-consistent, with high overall eye appeal. NGC has certified only 10 coins finer (12/06).
