1841-O Ten Dollar, Lightly Abraded VF25

1841-O $10 VF25 PCGS. Variety 1. The only known die pair. The 1841-O ten dollar cones from a minuscule mintage of 2,500 pieces. It is the second rarest No Motto New Orleans eagle in terms of overall rarity and the single rarest in high grade (Winter, 2006). The PCGS website estimates 50 to 75 pieces known. The two major services have graded 103 examples in all grades, none of which are in Mint State. The reddish- yellow surfaces of this VF25 coin exhibit well-defined devices and are only lightly abraded for a coin having seen moderate circulation. Population: 7 in 25, 43 finer (4/14).(Registry values: N1793) (NGC ID# 262J, PCGS# 8583)
