Description

1842 $10 Large Date AU50 PCGS. About 63,000 examples of the Large Date were minted, compared with about 19,000 pieces of the Small Date. Both issues are usually encountered in XF or VF condition. Honey-gold surfaces are imbued with traces of lime-green, and exhibit an even distribution of minute contact marks. The design elements retain fairly good definition, though the hair curl over the ear is weak. Population: 16 in 50, 32 finer (8/16).
Ex: Atlanta Signature (Heritage, 4/2006), lot 1973.
