Low-Mintage Small Date Variety
1842 $10 Small Date AU55 PCGS. CAC. Only 18,623 Liberty
eagles were struck with the Small Date dies early in 1842, making
the issue much more difficult to locate than its Large Date
counterpart. This Choice AU specimen shows just a trace of wear on
the well-detailed design elements and the lustrous orange-gold
surfaces are lightly abraded. Population: 5 in 55, 7 finer
