Description
NGC 1843 AU 53. Double Date. A conditionally scarce Coronet ten that is especially elusive above VF. In AU the 1843 is very rare with only a handful of examples known despite the substantial mintage of more than 75,000 pieces. This is a bright piece with light green-gold color and soft reddish accents surrounding the outer devices. Numerous marks are peppered across both sides with slightly larger ones on the reverse. Double punching is noted at the bottoms of all the digits in the date. Quite distinctive and the first we have seen as such. Trends $4,250 in AU 50.
