1845 $10 AU55 PCGS. Ex: Collection Sax. The Philadelphia
Mint produced 26,153 gold eagles in 1845, most of which have not
survived. Only a handful of pieces are in Mint State, and just one
of those is at PCGS. This Choice AU PCGS coin displays light wear
with some luster, while the deep orange-gold patina yields
predictable surface chatter throughout. Population: 7 in 55, 4
