Description

1845 Eagle, Conditionally Rare AU58

1845 $10 AU58 NGC. The vast majority of 1845 eagles are in circulated condition, XF or lower. AUs are rare and Mint State pieces are rarely encountered. The present near-Mint State offering is likely to be the finest seen by most collectors. It displays yellow-gold surfaces that retain considerable luster, along with sharply defined design elements, save for the usual softness in the hair above Liberty's ear. A few minuscule marks take nothing away from the coin's pleasing overall eye appeal. Census: 8 in 58, 3 finer (12/13).
