Finest Known 1846 Ten Dollar, MS61 NGC

1846 $10 MS61 NGC. The 1846 ten dollar is typically located only in VF or XF condition with AU examples the finest one can reasonably expect to obtain. The present coin is the finest example certified by either of the major grading services with only one other Mint State piece known (a PCGS MS60). This is a sharply struck coin that has numerous small abrasions scattered throughout the fields on each side. The most notable marks for pedigree purposes are located in the obverse field by star 12, a light grease stain (as struck) between stars 12 and 13, and another graze to the left of the eagle's head on the reverse. For the collector of No Motto tens this coin presents a rare opportunity.(#8594) (Registry values: N1) (NGC ID# 262W, PCGS# 8594)

If my clients were to auction something of significance, having Mike as the auctioneer would be a deal maker as far as I am concerned.
