Description

1846 XF 40 Scratches. A much scarcer coin than even the low mintage of 20,095 pieces would indicate. The 1846 is also a condition rarity with most of the known survivors in the VF grade range. Each side displays numerous scratches--not hairlines--these are deeper than hairlines. The coin has taken on a deep coppery-reddish patina which helps to lessen the effect of the damage somewhat.
