Description
NGC 1846/5-O XF 40. The more common of the two overdate varieties of this year, nevertheless, a rare and highly desirable coin in any grade. Apparently there are no mint state examples known of the 1846/5-O as none have been recorded by the major certification services, and the literature on this series makes no mention of such a coin. This piece has a pronounced greenish-gold color. The only marks of any note are a couple of shallow field scratches above the eagle's head on the reverse. The stars are uncommonly well defined, but the centers are weak. Unlisted in Trends.
