Highest NGC Graded 1846-O Ten

1846-O AU 50 NGC. A very scarce No Motto ten and more elusive than the four O-mint issues that precede it. In XF it is considered to be an R.6 coin and is very rare any finer. Typical for the issue, this piece shows the usual softness of detail in the centers and numerous small abrasions overall. To date (6/96), this is the singular finest example certified by NGC, PCGS has graded two AU 50s with none higher.
