    Description

    1847 Ten Dollar, Lustrous MS61
    Elusive in Mint State Grades

1847 $10 MS61 NGC. Bulging Bun subtype. With more than 860,000 pieces struck, the 1847 Liberty eagle is plentiful overall. Mint State coins, while conditionally scarce in all grades, are an ideal choice for type collectors of No Motto gold coinage. This MS61 coin displays a sharp strike and vibrant yellow-gold mint luster. Scattered abrasions account for the grade, although the Mint State status of the coin is unquestioned. Census: 34 in 61 (1 in 61+, 1 in 61 ), 15 finer (1/18).
