Description

1847 Ten Dollar Liberty, MS61
Pursued Mint State Type Coin

1847 $10 MS61 PCGS. The 1847 Philadelphia eagle has the highest mintage of the No Motto type, and is regularly encountered in XF and lower AU grades. But due to the high face value, few collectors saved examples during the 19th century, and today No Motto tens are rare in Mint State. The present coin possesses a good strike and ample sun-gold luster. A pair of rose-red alloy impurities are noted near the right (facing) wingtip.(Registry values: N2998)
