Description
1848 Eagle, MS62+
Mint State Rarity, Seldom Finer
CAC Endorsed
1848 $10 MS62+ PCGS. CAC. This splendid eagle displays
satiny fire-gold luster, with full brilliance and minimal marks on
either side. A mintage of just over 145,000 coins ensured a
sufficient supply of survivors for today's collectors, as long as
grade is a secondary consideration. However, those specialists who
seek an attractive Mint State example have limited opportunities.
This Plus-graded MS62 with CAC endorsement exhibits excellent eye
appeal and high technical quality for the assigned grade. Fewer
than a dozen pieces are certified finer. Population: 2 in 62 (1 in
62+), 8 finer. CAC: 1 in 62, 3 finer (3/20).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2633, PCGS# 8599, Greysheet# 9368)
Weight: 16.72 grams
