1848-O Ten Dollar, AU55
Seldom Located in AU
1848-O $10 AU55 NGC. Variety 3. Even though 35,850 pieces
were struck of the 1848-O, AU examples are difficult to locate.
This piece exhibits the always-seen softness of strike on the
obverse, most likely the result of poor die preparation. The
reverse is better-defined with softness limited to the eagle's
claws and arrow fletchings. Numerous small abrasions are peppered
over each side, but less so than usually seen. Only two dozen or so
