1848-O Eagle, AU58
Partial Mint Luster
1848-O $10 AU58 NGC. CAC. Variety 1. The 1848-O mintage is
only about 6% of its '47-O predecessor. Nonetheless, three die
marriages exist. Variety 1 has a shield ring, while Varieties 2 and
3 do not. This sun-gold example has a typical strike and displays
fewer marks than expected. The left obverse field has a pair of
moderate scuffs, and the obverse rim has a small depression at 4
o'clock. Census: 22 in 58, 7 finer. CAC: 5 in 58, 5 finer
