Not Sold Description
Difficult Near-Mint 1848-O Ten Dollar
1848-O $10 AU58 NGC. The unprecedented mintage of eagles at New Orleans in 1847 perhaps exhausted the coiners, since the 1848-O had a much smaller emission of 35,850 pieces. This sun-gold example retains its original skin and lacks noticeable marks. The high relief stars are incompletely brought up, as always, but the overall strike is good. Census: 16 in 58, 7 finer (5/08).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2634, PCGS# 8600, GSID# 9438)
